One  has likely reached the general consensus of how more often than not their concerns turn into up hill battles, yet probably don't care to end up in the ranks of the generally unconcerned either, so read on:

 

For those who have ventured to join this general rank and file; a disadvantaged position where life becomes a battle, we but soldiers, maybe just minions, many must ask how can this monster be beaten? Because when time is of the essence, and we are deemed slaves due to our needs for food and shelter, how can we be heard and counted as individuals? How can we voice our concerns? Well  dear reader, I implore reading on:

Intuitively, most folks realize that simply catching a newscast on a high profile topic usually pales comparison to the satisfaction derived from direct participation. Also, and far too frequently, one person may hold the answer for a problem that has plagued the planet for centuries. While worse yet, most of those unsung solutions could be lost before the next television commercial ends. And why? Time and necessity dictate otherwise.

Even I once pondered life's inequities until they caught up with me, and I with them.  Earlier, when I  claimed that my concerns had ensnared me, I wasn't kidding. Having things occur that you can't necessarily control is one matter, but to have preventable things occur is quite another. Especially when that someone just might be you.

I once received a citation that I felt had been erroneously issued, but never quite found the time to express my chagrin to the City Council. Later, caught up in life’s haste of whether or not to give the matter the genuine concern it merited, I wound up missing my court date and a warrant was issued.



 

 

 

Thirty days later, I was hauled off to jail for failure to appear.

And while most concerns don't merit incarceration, some are far more memorable, and come with much broader complications.  

For instance: In passing, one may ponder why their local school district neglected to construct safer cross walks when the roads were widened. Then, on the way to work one day that concerned citizen envisioned a safer means.  After considerable time arranging their idea into a well worded proposal, they gleefully addressed the envelope that would go to the School Board. Finally, the concerned citizen slept securely by having supplied, the reason, resolve, and impetus for the School Board to review their crosswalk oversight.

Therefore, wouldn't one feel better about having responding than never acting on their cross walk concern? Why certainly, as would most concerned citizens. Besides, what would one be left to think if a worse case scenario happened instead, when a week later a child died during a school crossing?

While not wishing to lay blame on anyone's doorstep, I do pray the reader isn't put off by such a tragic example. But in real life, isn't THIS one of those poignant issues that might best be addressed by the pen? Penned by a personal advocate will advance your concern.

There's no need for feeling like a numbskull. Never let those concern grab you by the ears. And don't even give those hair brains a chance to gain the upper hand.  Silently, yuck, yuck, yucking it up at your expense.
